First, we were trying to figure out color inheritance – why seeds from black fruit may produce a plant with red fruits (10 to 20% of the time), but red fruits don’t ever seem to produce a plant with black fruits. Those little sprouts give off a bitter taste that override the sweetness of the cherry, no matter how much you like the flavor of the fruit!
